Blogmas Day 10: Rick Stein Live Show 9th December 2013

I couldn't believe it when Rachel Phipps tweeted me to say "Congratulations Georgina! You are the winner of my Rick Stein Live giveaway! Please email me." I remembered I was crossing a busy road while glancing my down my phone (I know, I should never do that again), I was stunned and almost stopped in the middle of the road!

For one night only, Rick Stein appeared at the London Palladium for a live show - to cook and to share his many wonderful food/travel stories from his popular TV shows and his new autobiography "Rick Stein: Under a Mackerel Sky"
London Palladium is just beautiful....

The two kitchens - where all the magic happened!
The show was hosted by TV chef Brian Turner - I watched so many Ready Steady Cook back in the days, Brian was so funny! He was the host so he gave leads and controlled the timing, he was so bossy but also messing around on stage!
The main guest on the show was Rick Stein's son, Jack Stein. Jack is now the executive chef in the Stein's restaurant empire. He was so gorgeous and lovely on stage. He helped out the cooking a lot, but also filled in a lot of little family details to Rick's stories.
A lot of dishes were cooked but audience couldn't taste any of them! We could only inhale the wonderful smell of all the delicious dishes.

The show was full packed with cooking, story telling, Brian Turner's messing around, watching clips & never-seen-before outtakes from Rick Stein's TV shows, the evening just went like a blitz!

Thank you Rachel again for this incredible evening. I am really looking forward to Rick Stein's new show! (yep, he has already planned another food trip!)

Tuesday means... Steak night at Wetherspoon!

"Are you serious?" I know what you are thinking. Wetherspoon pubs have revamped their menu and food quality, but the price has stayed low.

Budget Buy: MUA nail polish in Natural Days

When I was in Superdrug to buy the Tiffany colours (NYC nail polishes  - check out my blog post here ), as the offer was 3 for 2 across all nail polishes, I picked up a MUA polish as my freebie. I saw this pastel baby pink colour in Natural Days. The colour looks really cute in the bottle.

Estee Lauder Enlighten Dark Spot Correcting Night Serum

Lately I have been obsessed with the Estee Lauder Enlighten Dark Spot Correcting Night Serum . In the past I tried the Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution, it was alright but I didn’t find the result that amazing. So when I got a sample of for this Estee Lauder Enlighten Serum, I didn’t have high hopes … But how wrong I was! The sample bottle lasted me for two generous weeks and after that I rushed out to get the full size. Although it is called a serum, it is a light milky lotion texture, it is easily absorbed into skin and it feels moisturising. With the sample bottle, I used it every night after my cleansing routine. I can see visible results to my face after two weeks. My blemish marks are significantly lighter (my main concern) and the skin tone for the rest of my face is visibly more even.  Now I have the full size bottle (30ml, also available in 50ml size), I am going to follow the instructions to use it both day and night. Use it at night to reduce
