Foodie Friday #12: Kettner's, Soho, London

It was just a usual dull but busy day at work,  I got an email from Scott my boyfriend saying "hey, I got a treat for you tonight!" I scrolled down the email, he had made a booking a Kettner's in Soho! I have heard so much about this famous restaurant, and I have been wanting to try for ages!!

We arrived at 7pm, a little early for our 7.30pm booking, so we went to the bar for a drink first. The bar area had the usual various high & low table, but they have a couple of booths that you can book with friends!

I ordered their cocktail of the month "Green with Envy". Such a pretty green colour in a cute cocktail glass (made Scott jealous that he just ordered a normal beer), The basil leaf floating on top was such a clever idea, you picked up the cocktail, the aroma of basil hit your nose before you took a sip. the most refreshing drink in a hot day after work.

We were then led to our table. We walked through the first section towards the back of the restaurant, it opened up like a conservatory, with windows all around flooding in sunlight!

We ordered. We were so hungry that I completely forgot to take pictures of our starters , and we demolished them in minutes. We had smoked mackerel pate & duck pate with toasts. They were amazingly tasty.

For mains, Scott had the grilled pork chop with wild garlic mash, which was a huge portion.

I chose the pan fried hake with vegetables. I might had it as fish & chips without knowing it, but I could not remember having pan fried hake before. Hake was such a meaty white fish, and it was cooked perfectly!

The portion of green vegetables we ordered as a side, the greens were crunchy & buttery.

Our booking was with Bookatable, the deal was a 3-course meal for £20. So we were "obliged" to have desserts!

Scott chose the chocolate marquise, he thought it would be a chocolate tart but it turned out to be a slice of chocolate mousse/sponge combination. The chocolate was smooth, but as it was completely different o what he had in mind, he thought it was nice but not quite for his taste.

I had the pineapple carpaccio with elderflower sorbet. IT WAS LOVELY!! The pineapple were sliced so thinly & sweetly, the elderflower sorbet was so refreshing & light, the combination was heavenly.

If you come to Kettner's, please visit their loos, they are located upstairs. Not that the loos have anything special about them, but this gives you a change to check out their 1st & 2nd floors. Span across the two floors are individual rooms that you could hire for events. You would be so shock by how spacious the upstairs are, it feels like I am in someone's stately home!

Every Tuesday night they have live jazz music with £6 cocktails.

Apparently, their afternoon teas are amazing too!!!

Charlotte Tilbury Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet Mask

All these years it is common sense that sheet masks are soaking wet with serum and to be disposed after each use. Hence I couldn't get my head round that the new Charlotte Tilbury's sheet mask is DRY and can be RESUED up to 3 times?!
