Kevyn Aucoin The Iconic Eye Set

During my recent regular weekly visit to Space NK, I found this little Kevyn Aucoin Kit hidden within the Christmas gifting shelves. Why hidden you may ask? The packaging is not particular exciting nor glamourous, the paper sleeve printing is very average. But when I read the content list, it was mind-blowing!

The Set includes:
The Celestial Powder in Candlelight (Top Left)
The Sculpting Powder in Medium (Top Right)
The Matte Shadow in Light Bone #101 (Bottom Left)
The Shimmer Shadow in Rose Quartz (Bottom Middle)
The Matte Shadow in Taupey Gray #105 (Bottom Right)
Full-size Eye Pencil Primatif in Basic Black
Eyeshadow brush

I was super excited to see the inclusion of Candlelight Powder and the Sculpting Powder!!! Especially the Candlelight Poweder - when it was first launched it created such a buzz within the beauty blogging community. It was something that I have been wanting to try out for such a long time.

Note the size of the palette
Candlelight Powder is a great highlighter, or a shimmery eyeshadow!
Sculpting Powder is matte, not shimmery at all. I like that it can be used to as a sculpting powder as intended, or as a crease colour on the eyes.
Bone White eyeshadow is matte too! I actually prefer a matte white as a brow bone highlight rather than a shimmery colour.
Rose Quartz eyeshadow is shimmery and beautiful.
Taupey Gray is a plumey matte colour. It compliments beautifully to Rose Quartz as a crease colour to create a more evening look.

The set comes with a Full-size Eye Pencil Primatif in Basic Black - the pencil is duo ended - one end is the pencil, the other end is a sponge smudger. The pencil is creamy and has the blackest carbon black.
The set also comes with a tiny travel size angled brush. It says it is an "eyeshadow brush". I personally think it is too tiny to be an eyeshadow brush, but it is a perfect eyeliner brush or a lip brush.
The makeup case is small, nothing fancy but great size for short trips.

For £48, I think it is a great kit! The sleek palette has a good size mirror and can easily slip into handbag! I am not sure if it is only available at Christmas time, but this is the first time that I have noticed a kit from Kevyn Aucoin.

Have you tried this palette and any other Kevyn Aucoin palettes? What do you think?
