YSL Volupte Tint in Oil


YSL Volupte Tint in Oil came to my attention because one of my favourite Hong Kong YouTuber Elizabeth Yeung mentioned it too many times in her regular videos and vlogs, so I had to see for myself. And I am so glad that I have! These (yes, plural, because I bought two!) have swiftly become my new favourite lip product!

Tint in Oil is exactly as the name suggested – the colour is mixed in with the oil. The lip oil applies like a lip gloss with YSL’s signature applicator which hug the lips well, so the product glides on evenly and easily. Although it is an oil, it is not sticky nor greasy. I found it giving just the perfect nourishment to my lips. My lips feel super comfortable wearing it. I looked on YSL’s official website, the oil is a blend of 5 different sensual oils: Apricot Kernel oil, Macadamia Seed oil, Coriander Fruit oil, Jojoba Seed oil and Passion Flower oil.

After the oil is either fully absorbed by the lips or wears off naturally, it leaves a colour stain to the lips. And I REALLY like that! I tried lots of different lip stains in the past, most of the stains leave patchy colours on my lips. However, this YSL Tint in Oil leaves an even coloured stain and my lips look natural! It makes me looks like I have naturally pinky red lips!

I bought shade No 5 “Cherry my Cherie”, a bright fuchsia pink. When I tested it in the store, it looked like a pale pink gloss and despite the sales said it would change colour according to the colour of our lips, I thought “No 5 is one of the brightest colour in the collection, if this comes out as pale, then that’s the colour I should go for as I am looking for a daily colour to wear”. How wrong I was!! I underestimated the colour pigment BIG TIME. The colour got much more pigmented and intense after a minute of putting it on! Don’t get me wrong – it is a beautiful colour, but it is a bit too bright for me on a natural/no make up day.

Shade No 4 I Rose You
So I bought No 4 “I Rose You” as well. It is a much paler pink with very subtle gold shimmer running through. Don’t be fool by the pale-almost-clear pink, it turns into the most beautiful natural looking rosy pink on lips. Absolutely PERFECT for day to day wear as “I born with beautiful natural pinky rosy lips like these”.


I am absolutely in love with the YSL Volupte Tint in Oil. Lately I have been obsessed with the Estee Lauder Enlighten Dark Spot Correcting Night Serum .
