Alpha H 4 Piece Skin Balancing Collection

I have been wanting to try the Alpha H range for ages, so when I saw this 4 piece Skin Balancing Collection on Cult Beauty, I was really excited as all the products appeared to match my skin need at the moment!, Banishing blemishes, controlling excessive oils but keeping skin hydrated so to restore the oil/moisture balance, getting rid of dead skin cells to brighten up complexion… everything is what I am dreaming for! What made it even more exciting was the cult product - Liquid Gold toner was part of the set!
When I looked on the website, I thought it would be a travel size kind of set, small but hopefully decent size samples to try the range out, but when I opened the parcel – OMG! Every product was huge! (I later on did some comparison on the website, they are all actually full size products!)

The set includes: Balancing Cleanser, Liquid Gold toner, Balancing Moisturiser & Gentle Exfoliant, and Balancing & Pore Refining Mask. It’s the complete skin care routine.

Balancing Cleanser 200ml (full size, RRP £23)
It is a very gentle cleanser. Feels clean & refresh afterwards. A little bit minty so it mildly stinks my eyes ever so slightly.

Liquid Gold toner 100ml (full size, RRP £31.50)
I have used Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Toner (medium mild) & Pixi Glow Tonic (very mild). Liquid Gold toner is 10 time stronger than the Clarins. My skin is not sensitive but the first time I used Liquid Gold, it was very tinglely. You can't use it everyday. The instruction suggests this to be used every other evening, even that I feel it is too frequent for the strength. 2-3 times a week is the maximum I think. For the rest of the week, I use something very mild like Pixi Glow Tonic.

This moisturiser is very light in texture, it has a minty tingling feeling. I use it both day & night. It wears well under makeup. It is a bit too light as an evening moisturiser in colder months, I will probably switch to my beloved Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate.

Balancing and Pore Refining Mask 100ml (full size, RRP £27.50)
A deep cleansing mask packed with goodness from macadamia oil, lavender & jojoba oil. It is a powerful deep cleansing mask yet relaxing & calming with the beautiful lavender scent. Skin feels soft & supple afterwards.

Micro Cleanse 5ml sample (full size 100ml is RRP £24.50)
This is a free sample that I chose with my order. A perfect addition to complete the set. The micro beads are just the perfect size to give my skin a good scrub without feeling stripped.

My Overall View:
Since I got this set about 4 weeks ago, I have been using them exclusively as my skincare routine. I cannot pinpoint any one specific product, but I found my skin has improved quite a lot when using the whole system. No more new blemishes, but more significantly my skin feels a lot less oily throughout the day, it does feel more balanced! The routine seems to have regulated my skin, I feel that my skin is now more towards the normal type, rather than combination/oily.

The set might look expensive at first glance £75, but they are all full size products. If bought individually it would be a massive £117! The set is a whooping saving of £42! I do feel that it is worth the money.

Have you tried any Alpha H products before?

Budget Buy: MUA nail polish in Natural Days

When I was in Superdrug to buy the Tiffany colours (NYC nail polishes  - check out my blog post here ), as the offer was 3 for 2 across all nail polishes, I picked up a MUA polish as my freebie. I saw this pastel baby pink colour in Natural Days. The colour looks really cute in the bottle.
