Tarte Rainforest After Dark Eye & Cheek Palette (Limited Edition) – First Impression

For me, Tarte is the most attractive brand ever since Sephora starts shipping to UK. Yes, QVC UK stock them, but the range, variation and the stock are very limited. I have already tried their Airbrush Foundation, which I am loving so much! Next on my list are their famous Amazonian Clay blushes and their buttery eyeshadows. And I have been thinking, “if only they are all in one neat palette so I can buy one and try them all?!” Someone somewhere must have heard my prayer and created the Rainforest After Dark Colored Clay Eye & Cheek Palette!

The ”Rainforest After Dark” Collection is Tarte’s Fall 2014 release. This palette is probably the focal point of the whole collection.

The packaging is beautiful! Even the cardboard box is beautifully textured like snake skin.
I instantly felt in love with the snake design as I was born in the year of Snake in Chinese Astrology. The box is plastic with wood texture lid design and a purple gem on the snake crown.
The size of the palette is satisfyingly big, the size of the palm of my hand, which is great because that means the mirror inside is huge!
The Palette contains 6 clay eyeshadows in exclusive shades, one clay blush in the shade Unleashed (nude rose), one clay bronzer in Park Ave Princess, and a clay highlighter in Champagne.

Taken from Tarte’s Official website, the details of the 6 exclusive eyeshadows are:
  • Bare to explore (pink beige)
  • Make a mauve (plum mauve)
  • Plum away with me (dark plum)
  • Up to no gold (gold)
  • Tan-gled up in you (tan)
  • Don’t turn a-brown (dark brown)

Tarte has also included a look card of creating a day and an evening look using the palette.

Although it is a Fall release, I think this is another perfect all year round neutral palette for travelling (as if I travel a lot.. !) or to be thrown in my handbag to be ready from desk to dusk!

"Are you serious?" I know what you are thinking. Wetherspoon pubs have revamped their menu and food quality, but the price has stayed low.

Budget Buy: MUA nail polish in Natural Days

When I was in Superdrug to buy the Tiffany colours (NYC nail polishes  - check out my blog post here ), as the offer was 3 for 2 across all nail polishes, I picked up a MUA polish as my freebie. I saw this pastel baby pink colour in Natural Days. The colour looks really cute in the bottle.

Estee Lauder Enlighten Dark Spot Correcting Night Serum

Lately I have been obsessed with the Estee Lauder Enlighten Dark Spot Correcting Night Serum . In the past I tried the Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution, it was alright but I didn’t find the result that amazing. So when I got a sample of for this Estee Lauder Enlighten Serum, I didn’t have high hopes … But how wrong I was! The sample bottle lasted me for two generous weeks and after that I rushed out to get the full size. Although it is called a serum, it is a light milky lotion texture, it is easily absorbed into skin and it feels moisturising. With the sample bottle, I used it every night after my cleansing routine. I can see visible results to my face after two weeks. My blemish marks are significantly lighter (my main concern) and the skin tone for the rest of my face is visibly more even.  Now I have the full size bottle (30ml, also available in 50ml size), I am going to follow the instructions to use it both day and night. Use it at night to reduce
