Review & Swatches: Clarins Crayon Khol Long-Lasting Eye Pencil With Brush : AW13

It was the beginning of August when I first saw Clarins Autumn/Winter 2013 released. The collection includes: limited edition face & blush powder, eyeshadow palette, lipstick, mascara, a very interesting 3 dot liquid eye liner. But what caught my eye was the eye pencils.

If you have read my previous post, I have bought a beautiful Dior eyeshadow palette for my autumn eye, the colours in that palette are khaki, blue & taupe. I have been looking for eye pencils to match them. So when I saw that there is a khaki colour in Clarins, I right away ordered 4 colours (out of the 8 in the collection).

The 4 eye pencils that I picked up are:

03 Intense Blue - navy blue with a hint of shimmer

04 Platinum - Grey with a hint of shimmer

06 Bronze - Khaki with a hint of shimmer (nothing to do with bronze)

08 Taupe - Brown with a hint of shimmer

(Left to right) 03 Intense Blue, 04 Platinum, 06 Bronze, 08 Taupe

I love the hint of shimmer running through all the shades, it adds a touch of sparkle to the eyes. They are not as creamy as some of the eye pencils (Kiko Precision eye pencils are very creamy & easy to use), but they are not bad.

My favourite out the of the bunch is 04 Platinum. If you find black is too harsh, brown is too boring, this Platinum is a good alternative. The grey gives a softer look but yet gives enough definition to the eyes.

One special thing about these eye pencils are they come with a brush on the other end. So you can blend the colours out to use as a shadow colour.

Colours blended out. Photo taken under the sun, hopefully you can see the shimmer in the colours.

With my very oily eye lids, the colour has lasted well for a whole working day, so I am very happy with the staying power.

The 01 Intense Blue also comes with a sharpener.

Have you checked out the Clarins AW13 collection yet? Are you tempted by any pieces? What have you bought?

Budget Buy: MUA nail polish in Natural Days

When I was in Superdrug to buy the Tiffany colours (NYC nail polishes  - check out my blog post here ), as the offer was 3 for 2 across all nail polishes, I picked up a MUA polish as my freebie. I saw this pastel baby pink colour in Natural Days. The colour looks really cute in the bottle.

Estee Lauder Enlighten Dark Spot Correcting Night Serum

Lately I have been obsessed with the Estee Lauder Enlighten Dark Spot Correcting Night Serum . In the past I tried the Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution, it was alright but I didn’t find the result that amazing. So when I got a sample of for this Estee Lauder Enlighten Serum, I didn’t have high hopes … But how wrong I was! The sample bottle lasted me for two generous weeks and after that I rushed out to get the full size. Although it is called a serum, it is a light milky lotion texture, it is easily absorbed into skin and it feels moisturising. With the sample bottle, I used it every night after my cleansing routine. I can see visible results to my face after two weeks. My blemish marks are significantly lighter (my main concern) and the skin tone for the rest of my face is visibly more even.  Now I have the full size bottle (30ml, also available in 50ml size), I am going to follow the instructions to use it both day and night. Use it at night to reduce
