My Long Lasting Makeup Products - Part 1

I don't know about other people, but my face doesn't seem to hold on to my makeup that well. I have combination skin in general but very oily eye lids, so no eye shadows would stay on. I normally put my makeup on at around 7.30am in the morning, then off to work. By about 11-12noon, most of my makeup will have melted and I would look like I never put any makeup on in the first place. I just don't have the time and energy to pop to the ladies to top up my face every few minutes. So any products that says "long lasting up to 16 hours" would really appeal to me.

So here are my top products that would last all day on my face (by "all day" I mean from 7.30am to about 5pm, if I am going out straight after work, I would freshen up by powder my face lightly, top up on blusher and lip colour)

0 - Primer : Stila One Step Correct

I name this step as "zero" as I don't always put primer on (lazy), but if I do, I would use this Stila one. I have seen this in the shops a lot, the twine twisted colour bottle is just beautiful to look at. The different coloured creams are to correct different problems on your skin to give it a even completion for foundation to go on. It also controls oil and has anti-ageing properties - bonus. I often found concealer too cakey and too dry for my under eye area, this primer corrects under eye area and is not drying. It may seem like a normal moisturizer as you smooth it on, but you will notice how much more even the colour once you apply your foundation.

1 - Foundation : Clarins Ever Matte (110 honey)

My favourite daily foundation is Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation, this has correcting pigments built-in to it so it's a quick all-in-one foundation. However, when I want something to last all day, Clarins Ever Matte is the one I will go to. Light weight yet give a smooth even finish, it is oil free and has SPF15.

2 - Powder : Rimmel Stay Matte powder (001 transparent)

I always powder my face to set my base. Rimmel Stay Matte powder is a drugstore gem, can't beat the price of £3.99!! The only cristicism that I have is that the packaging is too weak, it's not handbag friendly.

Right, I think it is enough for now. Let's have a cup of tea, and we shall continue...

"Are you serious?" I know what you are thinking. Wetherspoon pubs have revamped their menu and food quality, but the price has stayed low.

Budget Buy: MUA nail polish in Natural Days

When I was in Superdrug to buy the Tiffany colours (NYC nail polishes  - check out my blog post here ), as the offer was 3 for 2 across all nail polishes, I picked up a MUA polish as my freebie. I saw this pastel baby pink colour in Natural Days. The colour looks really cute in the bottle.

Estee Lauder Enlighten Dark Spot Correcting Night Serum

Lately I have been obsessed with the Estee Lauder Enlighten Dark Spot Correcting Night Serum . In the past I tried the Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution, it was alright but I didn’t find the result that amazing. So when I got a sample of for this Estee Lauder Enlighten Serum, I didn’t have high hopes … But how wrong I was! The sample bottle lasted me for two generous weeks and after that I rushed out to get the full size. Although it is called a serum, it is a light milky lotion texture, it is easily absorbed into skin and it feels moisturising. With the sample bottle, I used it every night after my cleansing routine. I can see visible results to my face after two weeks. My blemish marks are significantly lighter (my main concern) and the skin tone for the rest of my face is visibly more even.  Now I have the full size bottle (30ml, also available in 50ml size), I am going to follow the instructions to use it both day and night. Use it at night to reduce
